Kyara Ousley

Practicum Student

Hello, my name is Kyara Ousley, and I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling practicum student currently completing my training under supervision. I am passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout their healing
journey. I believe that everyone has the ability to grow and make positive changes in their own unique way, even when life feels challenging.

My counseling approach is person-centered and strengths-based while also incorporating techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care. I enjoy working with individuals experiencing stress, anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, and emotional challenges.

As a developing counselor, I value empathy, active listening, authenticity, and building strong therapeutic relationships. My goal is to support clients in identifying their strengths, developing healthy coping skills, and working toward meaningful personal growth.

“Growth is painful, but nothing is more painful than staying stuck somewhere you no longer belong.”
