Cate Peters
Practicum Student
I believe that every person possesses unique strengths and an inherent capacity for growth, even during life's most difficult moments. By working together, we can uncover the resilience that has been within you all along, build upon your existing strengths, and develop the tools needed to navigate challenges with greater confidence and balance. My goal is to support and empower individuals as they move toward improved wellness and a more fulfilling life.
I am currently a practicum student pursuing a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University and provide counseling services under supervision. My clinical interests include working with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, relationship challenges, and stress management.
My approach to counseling is collaborative, compassionate, and client centered. I strive to create a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you can feel comfortable exploring your experiences, identifying your strengths, and working toward meaningful and lasting change. I draw from various evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered techniques, and mindfulness-based approaches to help individuals to develop practical coping skills, increase self-awareness, and build resilience.
I look forward to supporting you on your path towards healing and growth!
