Graduate Intern

I am passionate about mental health and dedicated to serving underprivileged communities by providing compassionate therapy. I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia and have since committed myself to helping individuals, couples, and families overcome systemic barriers to mental health care.

With two years of experience working at the National Crisis Line, I provided critical emotional support to individuals facing crisis situations, including those from marginalized backgrounds who often lack access to mental health resources. During this time, I focused on honing my skills in active listening and the validation of lived experiences of others. I am currently pursuing a master’s degree in medical Family Therapy at Saint Louis University (SLU), where I am focusing on integrative approaches to mental health that address both emotional and systemic challenges.

My experiences in therapy include working with attachment-related issues, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and mindfulness training, all of which I incorporate into my work with underserved populations. Since 2024, I have provided therapy through practicum at SLU to individuals, couples, and families, helping them navigate trauma, relationship difficulties, and emotional distress in ways that respect their lived experiences and cultural backgrounds.

I am deeply committed to bridging the gap in mental health disparities by advocating for inclusive and evidence-based care to support clients in achieving emotional resilience and well-being. I believe that emotional well-being should not be a privilege, but a right, and strive to create safe therapeutic spaces where everyone can feel heard, empowered, and supported.

I look forward to continuing my work in medical family therapy, integrating holistic and culturally sensitive interventions that uplift all communities and foster long-term healing.
