Life is often a mix of both great joy and great pain. At times we may feel stuck, unsure of where to turn or what to do in order to feel differently. Often a change of any kind can be scary.

I strongly believe counseling is a collaborative process. Each of us is doing the best with what we have, yet we all have room for improvement. Counseling should be a time where you can process your thoughts, experiences, and emotions in a safe and non-judgmental space. We all need help sometimes and there is no shame in asking for it.

I have experience working with individuals who have endured trauma and abuse both sexual and domestic. Over the past three years, I have worked with individuals struggling with addiction, and have come to understand that addiction is a complex issue for everyone involved. I have counseled adolescents and adults on both an individual and group basis with a focus on crisis-intervention. Due to these experiences, I believe that no one's crisis is the same as another's. For this reason, I feel a client-centered approach to counseling is most effective; working together is the best approach to finding what works for you.
