Now, if you’re wondering if I’d be a good fit for you, perhaps an introduction is in order. I’m currently a counselor-in-training attending Webster University for a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling. I completed an undergraduate degree in psychology at Portland State University, not far from where I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. To accompany these formal trainings, I spent 3 years after high school learning the ropes of life in an informal manner while serving in the United States Air
Force.

I believe that counseling is a partnership, you can think of it as a two-way street. While you may look at me as the “expert” in the field of mental health literature and techniques, I look at you as the expert of your life. What you’ve done has gotten you this
far, and I’m eager to learn from you. But I also recognize that you may be seeking help because you need assistance in taking your next steps. If we can form a genuine, trustworthy relationship focused on achieving your goals for therapy, I believe we can leverage our combined knowledge to help you make the most of this opportunity.
