Abigail Herrick lives in the St. Louis area and has been fascinated with the body/mind connection from a very young age working to find balance within her own life. She completed a Registered Dietitian program in 2007 with a M.S. in Nutrition and Physical Performance. Her private practice keeps her busy and focused while she works with corporations in developing wellness initiatives and programs in health and wellness.
Abigail has been teaching yoga since 2010 when she became a Certified Yoga Alliance teacher through Prana Yoga in St. Louis. She then went on to study Thai Bodywork to become a Thai Bodywork Certified Practitioner. She combines the ancient art of Thai bodywork with clinical assessments to best determine the source of dysfunction while remobilizing tissues back to their natural state through trigger point therapy. Her creative approach to Thai Bodywork is informed by her extensive studies in anatomy and physiology at Saint Louis University as well has her 18+ years as a clinical exercise specialist and an out of the box athlete herself. She then went on to finish her 500hr teacher training program as an Ayruvedic Yoga Therapist at the Kripalu Yoga and Wellness Center in Stockbridge NY with a focus in pranayama and meditation. This further confirmed the need and desire to study the science of Ayurvedic medicine to its full potential which lead to study and training alongside ayurvedic doctors in India, eventually granting her an Ayurvedic Practitioner title at Kerala Ayurveda in Fremont, CA. Abigail also specializes in Chi Nei Tsang, which centers on the internal organs and the dynamic role they play in the body's blood, chi and lymphatic flow. Abigail uses a holistic approach to help her patients understand the make-up of their unique bodies and how to align their life according to their innate constitution (blue-print) for both prevention as well as resolving disease states that may have already manifested.
Celebrating over 20 years of study in Medical and Nutrition Sciences, Philosophy, Ayurveda and Yoga, Abby’s teachings offer a grounded yet transformative approach to living, being, and embodying the self. Blending the knowledge, she helps clients come into their own understanding around how to balance the qualities and energies within themselves to live within the alignment of their truth so they can fully live the life they were intended to experience.
A devoted student to the practice of life, she is diligent in providing a comprehensive approach. Abigail has studied with some of the world's most distinguished, knowledgable, and esteemed teachers of Ayurveda, yoga, bodywork, and meditation. She thanks and honors each of her teachers individually and collectively for their wisdom and generosity. Including: Dr. Robert Svoboda, Dr. Vasant Lad, Dr. Jayarajan Kodikannath, Dr. Sheena Sooraj, Dr. Meera R, Dr. David Frawley, Dr. Harin A, Dr. Claudia Welch, Dr. Scott Blossom, Dr. John Douillard, and Dr. Rosy Mann.
When not in the studio, Abby is usually cooking, hiking, playing in the sun and traveling. She loves the outdoors and all forms of movement. Contrary to this, she feels the deep inner stillness is essential to a joyful and more fulfilling life.
